Privacy Policy

How AddictionInfo handles website data, analytics, messages and third-party links.

Privacy overview

AddictionInfo is designed to provide public educational content without requiring a visitor account. This policy explains the information the website and its built-in contact form may process.

Information you provide

The contact form asks for your name, email address, enquiry topic, an optional relevant page URL, your message and consent to process the message. It emails that information to the administrator address configured in WordPress. The theme does not save contact submissions in the WordPress database. The hosting provider and email-delivery systems may temporarily process or log the message to transmit, secure and troubleshoot delivery.

Do not send urgent or highly sensitive medical information through a general publication form. AddictionInfo is not a clinical service and the form is not monitored as an emergency channel.

Spam and security controls

The form uses a WordPress security nonce, a hidden anti-spam field and a short connection-based rate limit. For rate limiting, the theme creates a one-way keyed hash derived from the connecting IP address and retains the temporary value for about 90 seconds. It does not store the raw address for this purpose in WordPress.

Technical information

The hosting service may process IP address, browser, device, requested URL, timestamp and security logs to deliver and protect the site. WordPress administrators may receive essential login cookies. The public theme does not add visitor accounts, advertising cookies or analytics scripts.

Optional plugins and services

Analytics, consent, advertising, newsletter, security, caching or form plugins can introduce additional processing, cookies and vendors. The site operator must review and update this policy before enabling any such service. A plugin’s own behavior is not controlled by this theme.

Links to public-health sources and treatment providers lead to separate organizations with their own privacy practices. Sponsored links to THE BALANCE are clearly identified.

Retention and security

Publication messages should be retained only as long as needed to handle the enquiry, meet legal obligations and protect the service. No internet or email system can guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of personal information. Submit a privacy request through the contact page and select “Privacy request.” Identity verification may be required.

Children

This site is not intended to collect personal information directly from children. A child in immediate danger needs emergency or safeguarding services.

Policy updates

The publication should update this page whenever it enables new analytics, advertising, newsletters, forms or data processors.
