How this list was built
This Switzerland shortlist is designed for international private-pay clients comparing highly private treatment with licensed or medically supported residential care. It is not a list of every Swiss addiction service and does not rank public treatment pathways.
We reviewed current official provider information and organized it around clinical/regulatory foundation, assessment and level-of-care fit, co-occurring care, staff model, privacy, family/continuing care and public transparency. We did not use self-published “success rates,” anonymous testimonials or décor as proof of clinical quality.
Important: Switzerland offers very different models—from a dedicated private residence to a shared medical clinic. “Swiss rehab” is not a level of care. Verify whether the exact program can manage the person’s withdrawal and psychiatric risk.

How to make the final decision
Start with an independent assessment of withdrawal, medical and psychiatric risk. Then ask each remaining provider for its legal entity, current license or regulator, named clinical lead, overnight cover, emergency pathway, total cost, refund terms and booked continuing care. A center should be removed from consideration if it cannot safely manage the required level of care.
